I think what your trying to say is you want to put a jackson racing super charger on your JDM b16b motor. But you think you should get the b18c5 (type R) jrsc because of the fact that u have high compression.... Well as far as i know Both the b16 JRSC and b18c5 version of the JRSC are probably are the same. someone correct me if im wrong

im confused on what you are asking. you need the b16/b18c5 kit because thats the only one that will fit you. your block has nothing to do with it. just run a different pulley to decide what boost you want. you could order the r specific kit i guess, which is 5 psi i think.

does the jrsc benefit the b18c5 at all? i.e. make power? worth the money?

yes its possible i just worked on almost the same project (b16a1... but still a b serie) and the power gain is pretty nice i am sure that youre gone like it.
the jrsc fits on al the b16 block's, but a charger means more heat so do youre home work before installing things like this.
for info go to keebler65 homepage or take a look at http://home.plex.nl/~schwarzy/ you will find some info on building an things to take notice on.
