Twin Turbo?
Is there like a rule of thumb that you must have ateast three cylinders feeding a turbo, becaause I haven't seen TT on any other vehicles less than 6 cyls (Skylines, Supras, Big Block Chevys) has anyone done it successfully in a Honda 4 banger?

A motor can not distinguish if boost pressure comes from one, two, or even 13214131515 turbos. Pressure is Pressure. Don't run more than your motor can handle and you'll be fine. Efficiency and spool times will vary greatly though.

Pressure is not pressure. Airflow is airflow. 12 psi from a T3/TO4E 50 trim is not 12 psi from a PT88.

I think you misunderstood.
I was referring to his comment on "So a four cylinder can handle all of that boost?" in relation to twin turbos on a 4 banger. Pressure is pressure, in the sense that a motor does not care if that boost pressure came from one big honking turbo or 2 little ones.

Re: Twin Turbo? (Justin_Bradley)
its been done before. theres a few archived posts on this site with twin turbo setups. the general feedback from it is that they are not as happy as they thought theyd be with it. It could be practicle for a fast track car but for street driving, you might as well invest in a different car unless of course you own a shop and can bend all the piping and fabricate **** yourself... then it could be a fun project.

I don't think anyone was saying that it can't be done.

Re: Twin Turbo? (TurboSmart)
there would be no reason to do such a thing. why do you think that factory twin-turbo'd supras and rx7's are going to single turbo setups? Because single turbo is more efficient.....that's why. sure, it would make a neat little project to quadruple turbocharge a four-banger, but it will be more efficient and easier to put one.

Re: Twin Turbo? (Justin_Bradley)
there are two reasons to do a twin turbo set up, one is on a v6 or v8 where the exhaust ports are on the opposite sides of the engine bay, making a single turbo impractical, or when there is a large turbo that takes a lot to spool it, using a low rpm low boost turbo with a large turbo helps generate low rpm power and helps spool the the larger turbo faster, best of both worlds (same concept as vtec) but now that there are bad *** ball bearing turbos that spool easily, and a single turbo set up on a honda already takes up the space of a small farm animal, it just isnt practical
there are cars with single turbos on V from the factory, and it just plain doesn`nt look right
