Default Turboing a Prelude

First off, this is not my car and I did try to search:

This is a customer's car, and it is a 1987 Prelude Si and it appears as though it is a BT22 motor. He is wanting to turbo it, but nothing crazy. He wants only about 250whp... "very streetable" he says. I searched online and I am skeptical; are there even any kits/custom kits available for this car?? Any help would be nice, thanks guys.

Yeah, a few years back we did a custom one for an 89 lude. It was absolute hell creating it, and the MAX it could take was about 230hp , before we got a bit nervous w/ the sleeves on that monkey. It's possible, but he'll be paying some loot for it to be streetabily reliable..

^^^Thats what I was thinking. The guy isn't too knowledgeable about turboing because he thought he'd be able to get motor work and a turbo kit for like $2000. Thanks for the input, I'll pass it onto him.

i have a 90 prelude thats turbo..mind u most people on this site have no clue and only have bad things to say about the b20a motors..i have had my car turbocharged and putting out reliable HP for a while now im puttin 240whp and 228tq at 11psi.. these motors are a solid deck block and can take a lot of HP very simular to an LS motor..just a different stroke...and the intake valves on the b20a are 2mm bigger stock, this isnt your regular b series parts are hard to come buy turbo manifolds are not really made anymore for them but u can find them every now and then... its not hard to turbo these cars its not hell like the poster above said, im very pleased with mine and have had lots of fun/kills with it..go to http://www.preludepower.com we have a person over there with 350whp daily drivin 90 prelude with the b20a5 motor..they can be made fast and reliable just like any other honda motor...and these motors make tons of TQ...only downside is the parts they dont make much for them...but as time goes on im starting to see more and more... u will see a lot of them blown up from lack of tuning..most people who have these cars have no money and cut every cost cuttin corner possible and that leads to engine failure...most people hate 3rd gen preludes..but IMO they look great when done right, handle very well, and can be made very fast with the right mods....sorry for the book..Mitch
