Turbo'd B20 w/ E85
Just dyno'd triple_s1x's old car over the weekend. We've had it running @ 10psi on E85 since spring of this year. He's beat the hell out of it but it's still running strong. A couple months ago he hooked up an electronic boost controller and has had it running @ 20psi. The Action clutch was starting to slip @ 6400 rpm in 5th gear on the dyno but we still managed to put down 384whp/309ftlbs on our Mustang Dyno.
The setup is a Precision SC60 w/ custom manifold, stainless steel 3" downpipe, full 3" exhaust, 2.5" aluminum intercooler piping (all fab'd by me) on a stock B20. I dyno tuned it using Crome and FreeLog. It's running E85 w/ a Walbro fuel pump and Precision 1000cc injectors. It was running around 20 psi of boost on the dyno but the clutch was starting to slip. We had the rev limiter set to 7000rpm, timing set to 20.5* and the a/f set to .85 Lambda across the board under boost. No signs of detonation and compression is still great.
More info on the setup here -> http://www.didrace.com/gallery...1.htm

384whp/309tq @ 6500 rpms

Probably would of broken the 400whp mark. I wanted to run more boost, but dave was being a *****.
This motor has just been abused nonstop for just pure amusement. Everything from highway pulls chasing down Z06's to losing 4qts of oil on track when a brass fitting cracked. I also spent some time daily driving this car, and got 27-28mpg. This is a great example of what E85, great tuning, and spending money on all the proper parts can get you.

Wow, 27-28mpg on e85 is really really good. What lambda did you guys tune to under part throttle/out of boost?
FYI, I was able to get 520whp out of my car on e85 with zero knock and nice plugs before I ran out of injector/pump with 1000cc's and the bosch pump

How did your oil look, after running the E85?

E85 whats the garbage corn crap, . VP racing gas all the way.
Nah. J/k Dave thinks again for all the afr settings. I just got my Megasquirt-2 in. I'm also in the ordering process of getting some EDIS stuff going. Then just need some other turbo parts and i should start tinkering.

Ya kyle see. This is just the car he is stuck on. Shows how much you know.
But wrx sedan cars are the lamest of all. Its the new ricer craze next to the Evo and 350z's.
Ok enough thread jacking. Question. I dont know if you program has the option. I know on megasquirt you can run a flex fuel 02 sensor. This will sense the fuel and switch between the maps. If you had this option, would you use it? Im on the fence right now.

Ummmm yea that option would of been sweet, when i was downtown and the closest gas city was 30miles away and i was on "E".

You"ll figure out how well it works realy fast, when you switch from e85 to gas. The car just wont run. To give you an idea how drastic the change is, on my car E85 will idle normal on a stock p28 with 1000cc injectors.
sexy cheese cake FTW
