Default turbocharging a d16y7

hey so im gathering parts for my turbo d16y7 and i bought a d15 intake manifold for cheap off ebay cause it has the 2wire iacv on it already,

and rite now it hasnt come in but i assumed all d series intake manis fit eachothers' heads....

the reason i got a d15 intake mani off ebay is cuz no one wants em as z6 and y8 ones are hot **** and i dont really care about + or - a couple horse from a stock intake mani... but anyways

am i wrong and need to start lookin for a y8 manifold?

also where can i find the studs for my drag manifold ( i got the wastegate ones) i need the ones that connect the turbo to the mani! thanks!.

From what i understand, the runners on a d15 intake manifold are smaller compare to the rest of the intake manifolds

you need to get the y8 intake manifold. the runners on a d15 are really small.

Exactly. Get a D16 manifold. Thats just dumb to run the D15. Free horsepower right there. Its not like D16 manifold are expensive.

Come on guys, the limiting factor in his setup isn't going to be his intake manifold. Unless the motor is built the intake manifold isn't going to matter a bit. That D15 mani will be fine I have one on my Y7 too.

Actually it is. So is his exhaust but, if thats the only manifold avaliable to get everything together then I guess. But I wouldn't put it on there. I'd wait and get a Z6/Y8 one.

No, his rods will snap before he makes enough power for his IM to matter.

I just don't see why you would want to use that manifold. So much more restrictive flow. I guess I'm just saying that because I don't have any of the d15 manifolds laying around and I have 3 of the z6 ones laying around which are just better.

I don't really like restriction.

You're totally right, but for a stock motor it's just not going to matter that much.

go to the junkyard man.. i goy my z6 mani for 30 bucks.. it made a huge gain on my turbo y7.. the car feels like it has alot more power at all rpm..

ill still bet the d15 it better then the y7.. that thing is so ******* small, im glad i got rid of it..
