turbo timer
Hey guys i just installed a greddy turbo timer. I was wondering, i have the timer set at 3 mins, the temperature goes up ( starts to overheat ), it isnt cooling down, but when i have the keys in the ignition and leave it on for three minutes. it doesnt overheat, i noticed that the fan does not come on when the timer counts down, obviously the keys are not in the ignition. and when the keys are in the ignition the fan comes on. My question is, is this normal? do the keys have to be in the ignition for the cooling fan to come on?
you dont need it set for 3minutes, short distances max 30seconds just allow the the turbo to spool down a bit. your fan should still come on if car is overheating even if key is removed, does your fan come on at all? go through normal diagnoses for fan, fuses, relays etc..
The fan comes on normally with the key is in the ignition. it just doesnt when the keys isnt in the ignition and the turbo timer is counting down. Mase is right, accessories isnt on,so the fan wont come on.

I dont know what I did different with mine but I didnt wire in any of the safety/security features like E-brake etc.., and I have all accesories functioning during countdown.
Ill take a look at the greddy site to see if any of the wires I didnt use interfere with accessories.
Only found the instructions for the greddy FATT, I have the older one whatever its called, I know mine was not wired the same, I had a whole extra harness with voilet and grey and another I didnt use. sorry.
