Default turbo rebuilding

do those cheap ebay turbo rebuld kist actually rebuild turbos? Im just learnign about turbos and those kits seam too cheap to actually rebuild a turbo. like 80 dollars.

it does rebuild a turbo but i wouldnt do it yourself if it were me. Need to have the trubo rebalanced.

ok but that is all the parts that are replaced? what part is removed that makes it unbalanced? thanks

Shops will do balancing, I've never heard it costing over 50.

main things are 2 bearings, retaining clips that hold them in place, 2 oil seals depending on which kind of turbo and seal you will use. 2 gaskets. What makes the turbo unbalanced is when you take the fin/blade off the shaft on the air inlet side. Anybody correct me if i am wrong....

i have actually taken off the compressor wheel without marking it and put it back on and the turbo was fine, but that was a cheap nissan turbo.
