Turbo for my LS powered hatchhback
So I'm gonna be in the position to purchase a brand new turbo kit in the end of October. I'm new to the idea and concept of turbo...but I've adopted the idea from VW that "Turbo makes it better" who here that knows alot about turbos can recommend me a good turbo setup for an LS motor in a hatch, I don't need mad power but I want a bigggggggggggg intercooler and somethin' that can boost about 12 to 15 lbs. down the road. Even a little more maybe. Please anybody knowlegable in this area please post.

that is not enough info. If I were to do a setup like that what would the Drag 3 cost, I know how much hondata would be.

get a good turbokit like drag 3. make sure u get a deltagate wastegate, they are tried and true. THe FMU from the kit and stock injectors work great up to 15psi. good luck. search sucks! I give u all the answers no problem man.

You'll want to go with a 1.75 inch or smaller down pipe to create some backpressure to help spool quicker. Also, to help with the fuel, bypass the filter as that creates a restriction and can reduce fuel pressure. BOV's are bad because they actually let out your boost. Don't put one on unless it's just for the sound.

First of all. It depends how big you want to go, how fast you want to go. Is your car going to be like a all out stripped out street/strip car, etc...
Go custom. Piece your own kit togther. Send me a Pm ill hook you up on turbo parts. OR email or pm b18bturbo.
Check my bio for my info on my car. I used to have a ls turbo hatchback best time was 13.1 on street tires.

As far as fuel goes, find a set of Civic CX injectors and use a inline pump with the polarity backwards.

Re: Turbo for my LS powered hatchhback (bryan305)
im sorry bro but if you want a turbo to spool quicker you need a bigger dp like 2.5 or even 3inch. back press. may be good for n/a in some instances but for boosted cars no. and as far as BOV's being bad, i dont see that possible. its job is to have the extra press of air to exit the charge pipes so it doesnt hit your throttle plate and cause lag and when it hits the throttle plate it goes back in the direction of the turbo and can reduce the life of your turbo because the turbo is pushing air one way and you have the extra air pushing the other way which puts stress on the turbo wheel and bearnings. BOV's are also adjustable so that you dont have the spring set too loose and have it open early and loose boost.
and i think a good enough setup for the street would be an adjustable fmu with a inline pump a s-afc and maybe injectors. but the most important thing is to TUNE TUNE TUNE. put it on a dyno and tune it using a wideband 02.

Yeah, tune for an a/f ratio of somewhere around 15:1 under max boost. Oh yeah, dont forget to run hotter plugs and advance the static timing.

Yeah, DiRep is hookin' you up w/ the info. Instead of listening to that fool Lil_Kid, stick with a 1.75" downpipe, but keep the 1.75" diameter piping all the way through to the exhaust. Widening the exhaust diameter will just create more air turbulance, slowing the amount of air that can efficiently leave your car.
Good luck.
Good luck.
