Yes you can keep the A/C if the manifold allows for it.

Comparing a K20 swap to a D series with a turbo kit.... well isn't a comparison. A stock D-series with a bolt-on turbo kit will probably yeild you the same results as a stock B-series swap. Not worth it IMO...

a turbo D16 done right will be much faster than a stock B-series swap.....even if the D16 motor is stock.

A built turbo D16 would be much faster than a K20 swap.

So yeah, it is worth comparing. Both setups are great, but a turbo D is just so effective, why swap it?

well as for the 900 kit, if it's one of the ebay ones that's brand new, plan on replacing the manifold, turbo and probally the wastegate within the first year, most of the other parts should be ok.....for a low(less than 15lbs) boost setup.

I'd just piece together your own kit for around the same price (maybe more depending on the quality/name brands of the parts you use or if you go with all new parts). Then throw in the 59300 zex cam(get a vtec head if you don't have one already), and some good pistons and rods and for less than 4000 you'l have a reliable 275-300+whp setup on pump....more if your willing to use race gas or the e85 that's out.

generally to keep AC & PS you'll need a log manifod and an internally wastegated turbo(like all the greddy kits use)

I just got a zex wet kit for my d16. Best $525 i ever spent on the car. 75 shot is fun. Don't have to swap anything except for plugs maybe. Good cheap power!

Just FYI But e85 is for ethanol cars. It will make your unleaded car run like **** unless you convert it to ethanol.

e85 = 85% moonshine/corn alcohol and 15% unleaded/cleaners.

one thing I forgot to point out. You're going to need to research for a few months before you're ready to do this.

SSAC/ebay turbo kits are actually getting better. Make sure you get the kit with the cast manifold, it won't crack and it will clear the A/C and P/S. Also you'll need to get a function7 (search ebay) oil restrictor or the turbo's oil seals will blow out quickly.

I'd do an SSAC kit before piecing one together. For the simple reason that it costs about the same and I'd rather start boosting right away, then replace parts as needed.

The EBAY kit I'd definitely rock.

The oil regulator you'll need.

This would get you on the road and I'd expect at least a year out of the turbo and other parts that wear out.

not true, all you need is some huge *** injectors to run about 1.5 times as normal gasoline....there are several setups like this right now making nice #s

what do u mean wear out? like are they bearings within my turbo or what?... also im looking to only push about 10lbs of boost so do u recommend sleeving it and pistons to lower compression? and maybe a crank? i mean im jus doing the turbo just because i want a front mount... blow off valve and boost gauge lol so basically for ***** and giggles not really for racing, i mean i might mess around here and there but other than that jus driving to and from work... so wat do u recommend?

seals can go bad when they have too much force applied to them, or they just get really old.

well as for the internal upgrades what motor are you running? most motors are fine stock for low boost(7-10psi), after that pistons and rods are needed(for say12-20psi) and if you want to get crazy (20 psi+) then sleeving would be highly suggested. Of course psi's and HP output vary from turbo to turbo but those are the basic guidelines I know of.

generally it'll say somewhere in the description that it's AC/PS compatible.

I recommend not turboing your car.

What are you power goals? On the stock motor I wouldn't go past 215-220whp. You should be able to get that on the ebay kit pretty easily, and you won't have to build the motor. Also, no offense, but you don't seem like you're ready to tackle a motor build. So, just buy a kit, and have a shop install it and tune it.

well turbos are the only thing i dont know **** about... im a domestic car guy so all i know/understand is superchargers so turbos are a new thing i wouldnt have a prob tapping into my oil pan, and hooking everything up turbo timer, turbo kit, blow off, waste gate etc..... but i would have inline pro or promotion in virginia do all the tuning and what not its only like $115 an hour and they said it should only take about an hour.... as far as pistons, rods, and crankshaft that a piece of cake, i just put my new d16 in myself in the garage.... so i mean i know how to do it, i just wanted recomendations on what kit, turbo, intercooler, etc ya know?
