Im trying to find a good flexible hose I can use for my turbo intake.
I found this hose on page 167 of the McMaster catalog.
"Heat-Reflective Silicone-Coated Fiberglass Duct Hose for Air"

• Use with air
• Temperature Range: -65° to +625° F (surface reflects up to 90% of heat up to 3000° F)
• Flexibility: Very flexible
• Abrasion Resistance: Poor
• Compresses 67% of extended length
• Color: Silver
The metalized heat-reflective exterior film deflects extreme heat (up to 3000° F) away from this lightweight double-ply hose. Hose has a fabric-enclosed spring steel wire support. Use a screw clamp or a worm-drive clamp to attach hose. For indoor use only.
Would this make a good intake hose? I like its high resistance to heat but Im not sure if it would be too flexible and sag or collapse under suction. It has a max pressure rating of 30psi and a max vacuum rating of 29"Hg.

looks like high-tech dryer hose.
IMO I don't think it would last. Not sure how much vacuum a turbo creates, but noticed the "indoor use only" notation.

What kind of setup is this for, you're better off either getting one fabed up or possibly the Drag intake kit will work, I know it worked for mine but I only used one of the two pieces.
• Abrasion Resistance: Poor
that would worry me....there's plenty of places this could rub and get a hole in it..and if it's really thing..a hole could get bigger and bigger pretty easy..or if you dropped something on it while working..
to me, just seems like a risk..but, until i've seen the stuff in person....i couldn't give a REAL opinion

Im trying to fab a real cold air intake from the bumper. Having a flexible hose would be a big advantage. The only place it would rub would be on my radiator hose which I could wrap.
that prob wouldn't help....the wrap stuff is abrasive as hell...might even make it worse.
you should just look into the orange hose stuff they have...since it's pretty abrasive resistent from what i've seen

What about this hose?

The problem is I need 3 feet and they only sell it in 2' or 4' sections. The 4' insulated tube cost $109!
And 3" OD would be too small. I need 80mm which is 3.15" and nobody makes metric size pipes.
