turbo gauges
what would be the 4 most important gauges assosiated with boosting your car to have and why
and if some one would have a list of all the gauges assosiated with boosting your car can you please post

1 wide band - you need it end of story
2 boost - again you need it end of story
those are the only 2 i own,
3 oil pressure, i don tbecause i would be constantly staring at it
4 egt because it can show changes in timming that a wideband cant pick up.

Wideband - obvious reason
Boost - obvious reason
Oil Press - absolutely!
Water Temp - Having a more accurate reading as to where the temperature of your coolant is a must IMO. If my car reaches anything over 225 I will immediately pull it over and let it cool before continuing on, after which I will flip my fan switch to have it on permanently.

i have the following
Wideband o2
Individual cylinder egt as well as post turbo (egt is pointless if you only have one)
oil pressure
water temp
fuel pressure
boost pressure

Seems like everyone is pretty much on the same page as to what gauges are important.
For me, I'm too cheap to have a wideband in my car full time (low buck setup anyways).
So, my gauge setup is as follows:
- Oil pressure
- Boost
- EGT
I think EGTs are important in a boosted car for situations where you are in boost for a long period of time, you want to know if and when your EGTs shoot up so you can let off the gas before you melt a piston. I drive up a lot of hills where I am in boost a lot, so EGT can be a lifesaver.

next to boost yes.
if you can only afford 2, those are the 2 you need.
i think i will actualy be putting in a fuel pressure gauge.

Oil pressure - any loss can kill your motor. Most important IMO.
Water temp - overheat a motor and you're in deep ****.
Boost - you actually don't need it, since you should have overboost protection already, and a set boost level. Your motor can overboost faster than your eyes can pick it up & react.
Wideband - not really needed unless you got a questionable tune a few years ago.
Thats for running a tuned car. For tuning a car: the WB gauge is good, but your datalogging *will* work better than your eyeballs. An egt is great if you do timing, although that needs some skill interpretting it.
