Default Turbo doesn't pull past 5500RPMs?

My setup: ls swap with t3/4 turbo(5psi), 440cc RC injectors, Hondata 3BD,
Problem: from 5500RPMs to redline the turbo doesn’t pull under full load, but at half throttle it will keep pulling. There’s no sounds of any major boost leeks. What could be wrong?

let me make sure i understand this correctly. at WOT you are saying from 5500rpm to redline it doesn't pull but at half throttle it pulls fine from 5500rpm to redline?

Do you have a boost controller on the car?

exactly my problem.
answer a few of your questions...
-I have a 255lph in-tank pump.
-No boost controller
-yes, non-vtec
-could be the muffler bearings
-A/F gauge says its ok and no black smoke out the tail pipe
Im getting it tunned by Inline Pro in the beginning of June

Any other suggestions?

dont trust that a/f gauge.

Sounds like its running too rich or lean

agreed...definately your fuel...either rich or lean

or it could be your muffler bearings

Well let me say it will do what you are saying being rich and lean. So with that being said lets analyze. Does it hickup or bog? If it is is just falling off then it is rich but if it pops or hickups then its lean. The only time I ever saw a car hickup and pop in boost from being too rich, the A?F was 7.50:1 and the plugs showed that.Check the plugs too.

Did you know VW Had some cars with muffler bearings where the exhaust past through a suspension component.

It probably is running too ruch (will bog, etc.)

You should check your plugs after a short boost run and see what they tell you.

Good luck.

sparkplug gap?

my first thought were those muffler berings too, but the chances of those going bad are next to none. especially since they dont exist:p

Turbo size could be wrong?..
If you still have stock bore & stroke, its 1834cc (or 112 cubic inch)
near 5500rpm the motor is near peak VE
a small compressor could start blowing hot air at that point

What size compressor do you have?

It hiccups every now and then, and dies up top.
The turbo doesn't start full boost till about 3500-4000rpms, and pull nice till up top. If anything my turbo is too large for my application
The plugs are new and are gapped correctly.

Im just thinking its all about the tuning. Its on a 440cc base map right now so...

Some older Porsche's also use muffler bearings.
