Agreed. For the money, boost is better...most of the time .

I've got 82,000 miles on my Y8. Do you think the GReddy kit is a bad idea at that high of mileage? I keep the engine in tip-top shape (just did cap and rotor, fuel filter, timing belt/water pump, plugs). Is high milage an issue?

I boosted my D16Y8 at 84k miles and ran it HARD through 112k when I took it off. The motor still runs 100% today

I bought my d16z6 in jan with 95k on it and boosted it from day 1. I boost it every time i drive it, race it a couple nights a week, and I go to the local track every weekend. I run 10psi daily and its getting faster and faster every weekend. Last sat I ran a 9.2 in the 1/8th with a shitty 2.4 60' on old street tires. Going to the 1320 with bfg drag radials on fri and 13's should not be hard at all.
My coupe ways around 2600+. My junkyard turbo was no more than 2k all said and done with gauges and fuel managment. No way in hell I would get a stock swap over my setup.

yah i loved my turbo y8. was so much fun bashing on dohc's who thought sohc's were POS's. I ran a kid in an si once... was kinda funny... he wanted to go off the line because "i would spin my *** off out the hole and he'd win." hehe ran him out the hole and from roll and put numerous cars on him. i sold the setup so i could put the $$$ into the built motor... aiming for like 350whp with the new setup to start off. damnit gotta get a bigger turbo

btw... see numbers in sig. that was on a t3 60 trim and afc hack. all those numbers i had something or another wrong with the car (primary o2 wire was severed on the 8psi run ). I nevered dynoed it on the hondata and 10psi like how i ran on the street.

definetly do it. make sure u have more money than u plan though. its not cheap especially when u get the bug. I put the greddy kit on my d16z6 and i love it. got a cheap intercooler and turned up the boost to about 8 lbs. always findin stuff u need though. just had to buy a new act clutch. but definetly do it youll love the added torque it gives u and its real easy to do yourself with some basic engine knowledge.

I am very surprised at everyone's posts in here. The d-series can support 300whp+ on stock internals with the right combination of parts. Its been done before, and can easily be done again. Its parts, tuning and knowledge that will allow the engine to withstand the increased cylinder pressure.
