I have been running autozone ricer filters on my car for years. They filter great and are cheap to replace

run any high flow filter that fits, just stay away from the sponge ones they blow apart and get sucked into your motor. mine just happened to fit perfectly, i got rid of the power steering cooler though.

it gets pretty hot up here in the summer i had no issues with it my power steering works fine and all i did was cut out the cooling loop. also on track days and autocross days no issue whatsoever, i never researched it it was in my way and pissing me off so it had to go lol, honestly if i lost power steering i wouldnt fix it i would just delete it. if u run a good dual core aluminum rad u should have no problem with heat, u can try water wetter too that stuff actually works. used to run it in a camaro i had with overheating issues. also a bigger pan and oil cooler can really help.

I used an AEM Dry Flow filter on the turbo first. There's a variety of sizes you can choose from.

With a backdoor intercooler, you can make use of the fender for cold air plumbing.

yes these are the ones to avaoid, the only ones worth a damn were the original hks ones but there are so many fakes now that u should avoid them all together, go with aem or k&n or whatever brand u like really that fits in there.

thats not a bad idea at all, in the second picture u have there is the exact reason i moved the power steering cooler but i looped it up closer to the pump

hmm, you guys with the driver side air inlet have a tighter fit than i will. with passenger side air inlet mounting you can run a short 3" tube to the filter have have it sit in the open space behind the overflow water bottle

Turbo-LS, I run the same style, but in black. Get them at Advance for around $20 bucks, iirc. Fits the 4" inlet perfect and barely squeezes between turbo and frame.

im not diggin where the wastegate is placed and where the dump tube goes, looks kinda sloppy and just thrown together. i really like that top mount i may have to try a top mount out with my next turbo.

dump is being switched to just a straight down drop tube under the car... that one used to recirc to the exhaust

I could place it direct and not use the 90 elbow but this should work for the wastegate itself

Thanks Whiterice, thats actually before i cleaned it up. I dont have that crappy msd coil anymore, and i cleaned up the wiring and everythign quite a bit. Last thing i need to do i get a real catch can and weld some bungs on the VC instead of those threded ones.

why not just use the stock set up and put an air filter on the valve cover vent? its worth it to run a can for 2 lines extra venting?

Because when your making alot of power you have to run more piston to wall gaps there for you end up with more crankcase pressure and the black box and tiny port on the valve cover doesnt cut it for proper ventilation of the crankcase.

My engine has quite a bit of crankcase pressure. at idle the air pushes out of that nipple on the valve cover pretty hard and my catch can has smoke coming out of it from fuel/oil vapors. Im running .0040 PTW and .0022 ring gaps so i need all the ventilation I can get.
