Default turbo

i was gonna turbo my single cam because i live in ma and a motor swap will not allow me 2 pass inspection so i was wonderin if i buy the whole turbo kit will i need 2 change or tune the ecu and will it give any codes?

why wouldnt a swap allow you to pass inspection? I dont know much about your states' regulations or whatever but if you do the swap right, then you shouldnt have any problem. But try doing some searching and see if you find your answer there but yes, if you turbo you will need a tune

You MUST tune your ECU after installing a turbo kit. You can use the original computer if your turboing the motor in your car, but you have to tune it or else it will run super lean and you will do a lot of damage real fast. Chip it and tune with crome. Its the cheapest and it is actually a pretty decent setup.

o ok and nah if the ecu is changed it reads the vin im pretty sure but only for obd2 obd1 is safety only here..but if anything i can swap the d15 ecu back in right b4 my inspection is due and swap it right back out after...
