Tuning questions.. what else do i need??
Ok over some time i have bought a manifold, DP, Turbo, piping, IC, BOV..
Now its for tuning..
What i think i need
Odb2a > obd1 conversion harness
chipped p28?
uberdata?
02 sensor??? Wideband? maybe not?(if someone tunes with their own)
and some guages?? What do i NEED? A/F? boost? pressure?
Boost guage? Manual ? or electronic?
Trying to do the rest of this setup around 500$ Is that possible? I would like it to be as reliable as possible this is my Daily Driver.. Looking for 8 psi stock block
Can someone also give me approximate prices or the best place to buy some of these parts??? I'm trying :-)

for tuning, oil, water, boost, gauges will help, you definitly want to be able to watch your motor make sure you are boosting at the right number and want to keep track of oil pressure and water temp to make sure you are running things correctly.
you named a few ways for tuning, wideband/p28/uberdata
you could get a p28 and have it chipped for the specific application you are running, injectors, turbo, fuel pump ect.
air fuel ratio gauge wont help with anything its a vague gauge as its reading isnt going to be as correct as a wideband air fuel ratio gauge with the o2 sensor those will be more accurate

ohh thanks! Yea i don't know a whole lot about how chipped ecu's work..
Good i will start to order my guages!
As far as uberdata and 02 widebands work..
I get it chipped for a specific program then bring it to a tuner?? or do i do chip it basemap and tune it? Or do i personally tune it w/ uberdata?
Anyone know good places to get these items for a good price also??

Obd1 conversion harness - Used $50-60
chipped p28 - $135? Not totally sure about that one
tune- $300
Im not sure how much gauges are, but your might be a little over $500
Are gauges really important?

I don't know if guages are REALLY important? I would like this to be a good daily driver.. so if something is going on.. i'd like to know before serious problems arise--
I'd like some opinions on it! :-) I def need a boost controller tho.. if i get a manual. i need a boost guage ? Or is it best to just get a all-in-one kinda setup

oil temp or pressure gauge is very good to have, A: you want to know how much oil pressure your engine is making
B: boost gauges are good to have to get accurate boost pressure readings thats a must
c: water temp gauge are good to have to monitor how hot your car is getting and if you are overheating ect.
some gauges are useless however gauges that show and monitor engine function IMO is a definit must have esp when you are boost a engine you want to get as much read outs on how your motor is functioning as possible.
imo unless you are datalogging, or you are monitoring the air fuel ratio/ exhaust gas, the wideband o2 isnt for you, and also a good wideband o2 will cost you a good ammount around 180-300.00 for a decent one..
you can have a ecu chipped to your specific application and then have it dyno/street tuned. you can definitly get away with all this for under 500.00
