Default tuning help

im new to the tuning thing and im sure this has been asked many times, i have a stock 97 gsr with a t3/t4 and i want to know what all i need for a good tune on a tight budget, like what ecu, i was told i have to go obd1, chipping? and what im looking to pay for parts/tune? so if any one can help me id appreciate it thanks

so with this basemap deal u give certain info on the car, so would dyno be necessary?

a basemap should only be used to get the engine started and get you to a tuner. it should not be driven harshly on. dyno tuning is always necessary if you want the engine to be at it's full potential and run safely and efficiently.

You need to converse with some reputable tuners in your area. Each will have a system of choice they will prefer to tune your car with (neptune, hondata, etc)

Discuss your set up, hp goals , and pricing of system/install/tuning ... then choose your tuner.

I don't live near you so I am not sure which tuners are close ... maybe Jeff Evans? Excellent tuner
