Go with custom pistons. Any size you need.

this is seeming like what ill do. took it apart today. certainly have some vertical wear but nothing caught my fingernail. the ring end gaps on the #4 piston rotated to the middle of the thrust i/e sides. the others were right on the money.

between the heater on and it being actually normal temp for once the measurements changed at bit since 25 degrees f . so anyway. the pistons in the motor were:

1 - 3.3228 ptw -> .0055
2- 3.3228 ptw -> .0055
3- 3.3225 ptw -> .0057
4 - 3.3229 ptw -> .0054

a bit big overall hence the slap and the wear but i guess not terrible.

the bores are still egg'd a bit but much more consistent between top and bottom of the cyl. bottom measurements taken right at the middle of where the skirts would be. nothing was bigger than .0015 more than 84.5mm with nothing smaller than exactly 84.5mm.

gonna bring it to my machine shop have him double check my measurements and get his opinion on the vertical wear. hopefully he gives the ok and ill get a set of custom pistons at exactly 84.5mm. adding the largest .0015 over size in the cyls, that will let me hone out .0025 hopefully get a good crosshatch and get me .004 ptw as id like. i know you can do 85mm on boost, but id really like to avoid it if i can. thats that for now, time for walking dead.
