Default Trouble shooting, need help!

Hi,

My car has turned into Christine in the last few days.

First problem, a noticed a strange noise coming from the front of my car since last saturday. I did an acceleration on a wet road. Had no traction of course. And since then I have that strange noise that come and go. At first it really sounded like something was rubbing on my right front tire. But after verification. Nothing is rubbing. The noise has turned louder a few times. Sounding more like a gear noise. This is under normal driving. No hard acceleration or hard cornering. I get the noise in straight line while cruising or slowing down. All the gears works fine. Is my open diff. dying? What I don't get is why is the damn noise not always there. Why does it come and go like that?

Second problem, my speedometer stops working for no reasons. I am driving on the highway. The speedometer sopts working. Then 2-3 minutes later it comes back to life. It's been doing that for the last 2-3 weeks.

Third, I get this damn Code 5 check engine. Which is the Map sensor. When this happen the car get's really slow and the EGT goes up like hell. I simply can't drive the car when this happen. I have to stop. reset the ECU. And everything goes back to normal. This happened 2-3 times in the last week.

I would appreciate any imput on these problems.

Thanks guys

Maxime,
