Which tranny would you pick?

... i dont know from experience... but doesnt the ls tranny allow for lower rpms at high speed cruisng?... i guess (from what i have read, correct me if i am wrong) the best would be a hybrid tranny... type-r with an ls 5 gear or ls final drive = close gear ratio of type-r with lower rpms for high speed cruising on the freeway... i think...
ls with quaife gets my vote. I don't have to gear crash every split half second. I just let the motor and turbo do the work while I'm sipping my cappucino and smoking my marlboro killing some TA.

Im doing LS turbo, but im going with a GSR tranny with a quaife...
Also on a JDM GSR tranny, did any of them come with LSD...?? i cant remember
thanks

actually, the smarter choice for boost would be a LS tranny with LSD since its got longer gears.
but since thats not an option, go with the GSR and put a Quife in it for the money that the ITR one costs.

you have got to be ******* kidding me.

I ran both, b16 then went to an ls. If ur motor makes good torque the LS is sweet. Kinda drives like a DSM, smooth long gear ratios. I ran both with a b16a motor pushing 9 psi on a revhard kit. I would have to go with a b16 trans if torque isn't available. But for a b18c or 2.0L my personal opinion goes with the LS trans.
GSR and LS are pretty similar, gsr trans would've been my first choice but an LS trans was readily available to me.

B16 or the LS. B16 first, then the LS as a backup. The Quaife LSD is interchangeable between the two if the B16 tranny dies, and maybe you can put the 4.4 FD in the LS to shorten its gearing up a little.

LS and B16 have the same final drive.
