Default Total seal piston ring review..........

Please post your experiences with total seal rings, I'm looking into weather it's worth the extra $50 over the stock SRP/JE piston rings. I've heard great things about this design, please post your experiences. thanks

The installs I've done they seat just as quickly as any other quality ring with proper hone and don't leak down any better.

So in your opinion, it's not real worth the extra $50 over the regular moly rings from JE/SRP?

In the cases of CP or JE, I think you will have the best performance using the piston rings they supply you. A cheap ring would make their pistons perform poorly so I feel the rings they supply are quite good.

Does anybody have experience with their gapless rings on a boosted motor?

Used both The SRP rings and Total seal. Both seated fine and both had great leakdown numbers. Not worth the extra money IMO.

That is what I was talking about.....I'm assuming no one is going to buy the regular total seal rings when they swear by there gapless rings. So from the reviews from above, it does'nt seem worth it.

There is no reason for gapless rings.I have never been happy with engines I have built with total seal gapless rings. What they do to the second ring to make it gapless impairs its ability to scrape the oil off the walls, which is its main function.
