Torque mounts effects?
hi, Maybe a stupid question.
My 458whp civic has only the left torque mount due to the intercooler piping in the front of the trans. The car pull hard to the right specially from 2cnd to 3rd gear. Recently I note the torque mount base bolt is bent.
What do you guys recommend ? Remove the left torque mount to see if any improvement?
.440 GSR Trans. With R LSD.

Re: Torque mounts effects?
I took the torque mounts off long ago, my motor mounts do have fairly hard urethane in them too though.
A bit of a side note not all urethane is the same it can be engineered to absorb vibrational energy and still be hard. All of the aftermarket urethane mounts blow *** they use shitty urethane, it tears easy and transfers pretty much all the vibrations through them.

I use innovate steel 85a.
How do you feel your engine and vibrations (does affect your driving and launch) after removing the torque mounts?
Thanks

Re: Torque mounts effects?
No noticeable difference on the launch less vibrations, I don't drag race. I do time trials. I'm running 95 shore c urethane too, its a custom blend. Give it a shot and see how it goes, the only strait drag car I have been involved with would run only solid aluminum mounts. They didn't use the torque mounts either. I have bee running with these mounts for 2 years now in the 400-500whp range.
