Default top mount or cast iron????

so i just got done sleeving/building my b16t block, its going to be a dd and im curious if i should stick to my cast iron manifold or go with the top mount mani.,

the turbo set up is a t3/t04e 57 trim and im only planning to run about 400whp, so is the top mount worth it, are there any advantages to having a top mount over a cast with such a mild build????

all the help guys thanxs

how about cast iron with top mount

you would have to find that thread where the guy used the stock cast iron mani and then add a part to make it a top mount.

cast iron=reliable though most cast irons will creep at 400whp unless ported or unless you modify the wg outlet to accept a 44-46mm wg. tube manifolds=a little more power faster spool and better overall performance at the sacrafice of reliablility and budget. i know some last but many of them crack and good ones cost about $800+.

if you go with a cast mani, id get the meutek i know people that have run that thing to 380whp with no boost creep using a tial 38mm wg.

a top mount isn't really necessary ... just pick up a good log mani like inline pro, or a good equal length ramhorn like arizona forced induction or rld-fab for 550ish.

No reason to go THAT overkill on your setup ... I wouldn't use a topmount unless you're going to do a paired runner setup with dual wastegates and are going for some big numbers.
