Too much money?
Do get a reliable setup, this is what i have come up with and it just seems like far too much money. If i am wrong, please assist as i am just getting more and more frustrated. For example. Lets say i was to go with revhard kit for 2800. THen i would need hondata s200 2b(600?) harness, (255), obd1 (?) clutch, (350), injectors, 300(being generous(Sp)). Then tuning, 700. So we add this all together and get 5005 without obd1. plus i would need to get a 3bar map sensor later on, 100, would not be able to install anything but the kit, so there is another 1000-1500. It just seems worthless. Sorry for the rant, just wanting some advice or someone to see if i made a mistake, missed a part, or can get things cheaper.
best bet: read for a long time and do research, make a list of the parts you need and over time you can pick things up as you find deals.
By the time you are done your research, you'll probably feel comfortable to install the stuff or make a friend on here that could help you.

i agree...turbo kit can be made w/ everything you need for about $1700+clutch(350)....and tuning and hondata is all preference..there are other options...but $2050 isnt bad for the addition of over 100whp and 100torque...
i assume you are OBD0 which is why you want to convert up and run Hondata...
There are cheaper options out there for OBD0...PM if you are curious. People flame what they dont understand...if you knwo what I mean.

Piece together a kit and save some money. Some things are not necessities but more like luxuries. I say if your on a budget look into a cheaper fuel mangement if you dont plan on boosting much. You can always upgrade so slowly work your way up. You dont have to start at the top but you would probably be better working your way there slowly.
Other than that i say research and decide whether boost is for you or not. What kind of goals do you have? All of this is important when you are strapped for cash. It sucks believe me i know.

Contact boosted hybrid. $700 is way too much for tuning. He can have your partial throttle and WOT tuning done for somewhere between $400-$450 (and that includes the cost of the dyno, and street tuning!) If you live around PA he is the best choice.
Buy a freaking greddy kit man. If you're that worried about money then greddy is the only way to go. Also get it used. I got mine used with 4k on it for 750 with a vafc. There are always ppl upgrading for that 400whp machine. I settled for a 200whp machine. for 700 bucks
thanks for all your help. So much better than clubsi imo, dont bash me for not searching when i have. Thanks. My goals, as of know, mid 13's are fine. I was going to run 8psi stock internals until i could afford to upgrade them. the kit itself isnt whats going to cost me, its the installation. I dont think it would be too smart for me to install a lot of the stuff. Sorry for the dumb question, but you have to have an obd1 ecu along with the harness correct? pretty sure thats right. Thanks for all your help.
AHH, dude, me and my buddy USDM 4G VTEC help our buddy put a greddy kit in his 96 civic it's 0bd2. the only difference is you wire it up a little different. If u use the blue box for greddy then u run a missing link. If you use the VAFC hack like me then even if ur obd2 you don't need the missing link. Greddy is the best way to go for modest power. Dont get me wrong if you want 300whp then get something else, but i'm running stock internals at around 7psi and get 150whp and at 12 psi the max for the Hack i get 200whp. Get GREDDY !
Dont worry about installing it, there are so many step by step guides on this forum and http://www.turboD16.com that you can do it all by urself. I say for less than 1300 u can have a beast of a car. If you have a B series then it's gonna be about 1700. But come on, thats a lot better than 5000

I'd say going turbo on a non-turbo car is about 90% science/physics, and 10% luck with all the best or ideal parts and setup. When you start skimping, the ratio changes more and more in favor of luck, and less in science/physics. I've seen and heard of people with nothing but the best parts, tuning, and setup that STILL blow their motors (that pesky 10% luck), yet still I've seen people with the most rudimentary equipment for their setup (FMU's, "hacks", ect) do okay for quite a span of time. Guess their luck was/is just better. The question you should ask yourself if you're not sure if you can afford it is: "How lucky do I feel?". Well....do ya?? ;-)

dont feel very lucky. I would have it all tuned. I wanted to go with a max rev kit, but they stopped making them, so thats out the door, full race is nice, but install might be hard, and price is up there.
