im turbo and when im driving my car almost stalls and when i gas it nothin happens and then 5 secs after it kicks in and jumps going ,i have 43 k miles and mechanic said i need new timing belt cuz it skipped a gear or somethin is dat true???

 

and by the way my idle goes down on me almost to like 400 rpms and when i gas it, it almsot wants to sleep on me or choke>>>is it spark plugs? my timing or wut

 

sparkplugs fo sho.
distributor cap, rotor, wires?
whens the last time you changed um?
