anyone using these inline flow controls? just wanting to get some feedback on what everyone thinks about them. are they really that much easier on the drivetrain

Flow Control Valve
The TB&C flow control valve is designed to reduce shock load to the driveline by allowing the clutch to slip slightly during engagement. Shock load is a result of an abrupt clutch engagement when the crankshaft and input shaft speeds are not precisely matched. The flow control valve is designed to reduce the chance of losing traction when downshifting (road racing, entering pit lane) and/or reduce the chance of damaging driveline components (broken axles, transmissions, etc). This valve can also be used in drag racing applications to reduce shock load to a driveline when launching.

The valve works by restricting the return flow of the hydraulic fluid by a tunable amount. Fluid flow is not restricted during clutch disengagement. Therefore, shift times are still quick and pedal feel is not altered. The valve will have an effect on quick clutch actuations only. It will not alter fine clutch modulation (small pedal movements).

TB&C flow control valves include three orifice sizes (.021”, .028” & .040”) that enable clutch engagement to be tuned. The valve features AN3 fittings for use with most TB&C master cylinders and -3 hydraulic lines.

we have been running it all season on the civic and 240sx - really haven't noticed much of a difference - reason we installed it on the honda mainly was to get rid of some of the shock between shifts to the tires - the flow control should allow the setup to slip a little bit to maintain traction and drivetrain components

although we have been running the small tire (24.5) all year and last year we really didn't have parts breakage issues with the small tire - always on the big tire (26)

we will hopefully do some big tire passes here towards the end of the season and that is when we would imagine the flow control will really show its worth

hmm. so how much power are you making with the civic. it caught my eye when i thought about launching on 25's at like 7500 rpm, haha.

the civic makes mid 700 whp

We like to think that the flow valve is one of the reasons me and tony's tranny last so long. There are other things that are involved in it, but its not that hard to figure out. But a small tire does help out a lot.

excuss my ignorance, but I assume thsi would work fine on the normal slave cylinder, not just the tilton hydro one?

yea, i actually read the instructions and its universal, looks like I need to find a tilton dealer.

Art you guys sell this? I'll probably pick up atleast one. anything to make the twin disc not attempt to knock the dash out of place when i launch

took me a minute to get it, but when i did, i laughed out loud

anyone wana throw out a 'round about price for these?

are these only for the twin disc guys?
im tryin to find anything i can to make my poor d series trannys (transmissions ) hold up.
is this something that could help me?

that is exactly what it is used for, to reduce the shock during launches and shifts, and letting the drivetrain live longer.

should be workable for any clutch setup not necessarily the twin disc only - just a matter of installing it inline with some -3an line

good, i'd hate to think that something as simple looking at this would be non-expensive.

yea, art just told me the price, i told him to besure to give a free sample of KY with every purchase.

although if it does save a tranny that would be well worth it. Hell its cheaper than buying a new 1st gear set.
