Default Tial BOV

Does anyone use the Tial BOV? i have the wastegate 35mm, and I think that it would be nice to keep it all Tial. Anyone know if it works well under medorate boost ~7 to~ 9 psi? How about the sound of it? I am under the impression that it may be for a higher psi application. Thanks everyone

you should have no problems at all with the tial at that psi i mean they do offer it in a .5 bar spring which is what im gunna run my daily motor at.
plus they just look sooo much nicer than a delta gate

I have one...

...sitting on my bedroom floor Hehe, sorry. I was in the same situation as you. Had the 40mm gate, so I figured I'd get the BOV. With a 50mm valve, it shouldn't have any trouble controlling my planned boost levels and I heard it wasn't "that" loud (a plus for me).

Quality is, well, Tial Just like their wastegates as far as construction and materials. I'll should be running 8-12psi on the street and hopefully no more than 20psi at the track

Ok, but it'll probably be a while. I have an engine to put in my daily driver, an engine to install in my boss' car, a house to remodel, then the "beast" get's worked on Ok, there's my sob story

Oh, and I previously had a HKS SSQ BOV and the high pitched whistle which was initially intoxicating began to get on my nerves. With all the recent thefts, I'm trying to be as inconspicuous as possible

Get the Tial. Nice quality, and the blow off sound is quiet compared to others so less attention to your car (which I find is a plus). I am running 8psi and have no issues with it.

I had a tial on my integra, very nice piece! It isn't very loud but work very well. It's kinda sensitive though, it needs a really good vacuum source. Don't tee in anything to it and it will work best.

I just got a tial bov too. The build quality is great and it looks pretty beefy for just a bov.

Regarding the boost levels that you desire, I talked to Tial and you can swap out the spring so that a lower vaccum will actuate the bov. Yes I do mean the bov, not the wg. But if you are running around 7 psi you probably won't need to do that anyhow.

The quality of the valve is very nice, I am using one on my daily driver at the momment, it will be going back on the race car. It doesnt sound like other blow off valves, since its vented all around the body of the valve. It kinda sounds like a Whipish.. sound.. also if you are going to be running a Non-vtec engine with large cams, you will need to get a differnt spring inside the valve, so it opens.

If you want something that gets peoples attention.. Go with a HKS SSQV or a Blitz valve, they are very loud and annoying.

why would it not open with non vtec? i understand the large cam (no vacuum) but why would it not open without vtec. Vacuum is vacuum and it should open as long as it gets its vacuum signal. RIGHT?

HAA okay, you had me confused thanks for clearing it up. I was pretty sure i was right, anyhow, everyine pretty much agrees that the quality is top notch and this is the BOV to have? i think im going to go with it, just one more question. Is it audible at all? i mean can you hear it under normal driving conditions?

Can you hear it?.. Sure it makes noise I guess, just doesnt sound like the conventional Blow off valves.. Mine has a 20in vacuum spring installed, I was having a tough time getting the ****** to open with my Built ZC and Crower Cams.. Still could here compressor surge.

Straight from a email TiAL sent me:

The BOV works on a combination of boost under the valve and vacuum on the diaphragm. 2 settings are available 9psi and 11psi Example would 6psi(12in) vacuum + 5psi under the valve= 11psi spring setting.
