really thats funny cause if you call tial they will tell you the complete opposite
only need replys from people that actually have a TIAL BOV
thanx

They are "vacuming" at whatever they were before the Tial BOV. You can choose different springs in the BOV depending on how much vacuum your engine pulls at idle.

Re: tial bov ? (dustin)
k so let me ask the question like this ,what determines the spring rate (7,9,12)when purchasing the tial bov??i cant get a straight answer just guesses long story short i had a hks race bov before vaced at 20 on the head put a tial in and the car is vacing at 17 on the head not 1 other thing was touched combinding this info and asking questions bout the tial (thru tial dealers) im thinking it has to do with the bov i was told everything from you pick a spring by what your car is vacing at to it depends how much boost you want to run (wich you could go 2 times the spring rate ) what i seee is the bov is open at idle wich i would think is causing a vac diference being your charge pipe is open to the atmostphere

I believe the spring rate your talking about is how much spring pressure is placed on the diaphram, so less pressure means the BOV will open faster. On my DSM I ran 25+ psi on my SC50 with my tial 50mm with the bigger spring. When I would let off the throttle in boost, it would close and there would be a delay(very small) between the plate closing and the boost being discharged from the pipes, thus putting too much pressure on my throttle butterfly causing it to frag. By switching to a "smaller" spring it relieved the boost pressure faster and put less stress on the throttle butterfly. I was still able to run 27-28psi and the BOV would hold it. I have never heard about the different spring rates for vac, but I could be wrong, only speaking from experience. I do know that neither the HKS or the Tial should leak or be open at idle.

Re: tial bov ? (forcedinductionz)
Tial recommends certain spring rates depending on how much vacuum your engine pulls at idle.
