thinking about getting a Greddy kit

I agree. Maybe if J. Davis would use the search feature, he might learn something. J. Davis, you might try the website pgmfi.org to learn about e-manage. Another thing, get off this bandwagon you're on.

I got a 1996 Civic EX with a Greddy 15G running 5.5LBs with EMANAGE fuel unit. I boosted it 12-12-2004 just last month. The kit is really nice, it took me 2days to installl all by myself but it was worth it. Car is running good, no problems, no check engine lights, and the car hauls good ***, and my tires break loose by 5000RPM in 1st gear!!!
The mitsubishi td04h-15g that it comes with spools tooooo fast. Before you know it, by half throttle, you're already shootin' 2-3psi. And the spool is hellla loud.
Overall, I give Greddy Quality: A- Greddy Engineering: B
The reason I chose Greddy was because: 1. Cheap and affordable. 2. Smog LEGAL 3. Good reputation. 4. And of course, its a japanese company (Trust LTD.) we all know anything japanese is pretty good.

yeah I think it's been proven that the greddy kit is a great budget option for dseries.
won't need quite as much thought to put together as a junkyard kit,
might be alil more expensive, but still way cheaper than other kits.

Well all I hear is the apexi avcr solenoid trying it's hardest to hold boost steady. But it's starts to drop off close to redline.
Here's a link to the dyno

haha, so you get used to that too eh?
I'm at like 150 i think, and its fun as ****!! but yeah I want mroe
I think 250 would just be too fucked,
although I do have a gutted cx... so every hp does alittle more than in a teg..
but still 250 is 250!!

The torque on it is honestly rediculous
. passengers get whip lashes when I just blip the throttle
. I need 300 and I'll call it a day with the 18g. Then I'll start boosting my EG and do a custom setup.

The Greddy Turbo Kit is awesome but the blue box has a lot of flaws. My friend has it on his LS/VTEC and made 240 WHP @ 7 PSI on a very conservative tune using Hondata and it's QUICK with very little lag.
i have a greddy kit on my 97 gsr and i loove it but not too long ago i started spiking like hell!! it was set at 8-9 psi on the actuater and now out of nowhere my gauge will read 14psi spikes!! then durring runs ittl go down to 11-12 psi spikes wtf?? and this is all on a stock motor with the lil blubox...i cant even go to redline without knowing im spiking like hell so i barely drive it hard on pump gas and if i do wanna drive it hard i have to use 100 to be a little on the safer side...are greddy wastegates notourius for this??

That was heavy, heavy sarcasm. Wasn't the pgmfi comment enough of a clue? I can't believe you thought I was serious.
I hope no one else did. Now I'm embarrassed! I was laughing at the other two posts about him needing to search, and getting off the bandwagon. No one is more anti-bandwagon than him. He should bring back Agent Smith, though. The satanic sun avatar, and "seething jackass" title seem to have brought out a mean streak. Or maybe he was being sarcastic?

im probably better off with another revhard kit or something else other than a greddy kit from the looks of things in this thread. haha for the same price as a greddy kit with a half-assed unreliable greddy fuel management system... i can get a drag or revhard kit with an intercooler and bandaid fuel system (fmu and inline) that proves to work for the boost levels im used to (7-9psi). hmmm decisions... decisions.

are greddy wastegates notourius for this?? They sure are. Everyone will tell you to do are search and this is what you'll come up with. The internal wastegate is notorious for spiking, I was in your shoes along with like 100's of other members. My itr spiking was scaring the hell out of me and for good reason. I ended up blowing a crack in # 4 through the sleeve and water jacket. I suggest raising your fuel pressure, setting your ign. timming very mildly, and maybe looking into bigger injectors because the blue box is also notorious for running lean as a beotch. A search will soon lead you to being in the welding an external club. I'm in it, wanna sign up.

How fast do you wanna go?
The greddy 15G kit is good to 250whp, and the greddy 18G is good to 350whp.
Sure, the included fuel management isn't the best, but that's what hondata/uberdata/AEM EMS is for, REGARDLESS of what turbo setup you go for.

my JDM b18C seems to be limited @ 10 psi or so. ( high compression) see sig for details.
it was my understanding that the e-managed that comes with the kit is LOCKED, meaning non tunable. runs like stock off boost runs rich on boost. technically more advanced than the blue box, but otherwise same **** different day.
I still think the Greddy kit is fantastic, legal and you can keep your A/C.
re: the guy who blew up his ITR with a greddy kit, Greddy didn't make one for the ITR.

i think the only thing really holding back the greddy kit is its small downpipe... upgrade the downpipe and some of the piping and you got a great kit... i had the type 24 intercooler and this thing was massive. my charge pipes were ice cold after a hard night of beating on it

The only "lock" I see on the Emanage is the sticker that says you lose your CARB exemption if the tune is modified. It is otherwise a fully functional manage.

The good thing is that smog people wont be able to tell if you modified the tune on the emanage. I would guess most dont even know what it is. I have my emanage in the glove box and the smog guy didnt even know it was there.
