Thinkin of switching turbos???
So right now I have a Garrett T3/T4 57 trim, .63 a/r, and am running 16 psi putting down about 370 whp on a 9:1, B!6.
I want something a little more fun on the street with more mid range, but not die out or blow hot air at 8000 rpm. Anyone know of a turbo I could use that would yeild me roughly 310-330 whp and carry to redline or beyond?
Something that boosts super quick, and not a ball-bearing.

Yeah, I'm not interested in spending a hell of a lot. I would galdly trade someone if they wanted too.
Maybe some sort of ported T3, I don't know.

Porting turbo inlets and such assist in the the original characteristics of the turbo that was done, they don't change the characteristics of a turbos performance in the form that you want. You've kinda limited yourself by saying;

A: You can't have ball-bearing cartidge because of the price, in which in your case for anything smaller to have the same areas you want changed.
B: Even if there was an alternative Journal-bearing, you don't want to spend on a new turbo, and simply want to trade.
C: To much of initical boost "spool" may cause some seriously uncontrollable side affects to what you think you want on a FWD.. But we can't tell what it is you're ultimately looking for in the purpose of your car.

Now, I'm quite sure there are a few people on here who are wanting to sell their used G28RS or 2871R series + cash, but I highly doubt you will get a "straight up trade".
You may also want to consider upgrading your cartidge that you have, but then it goes right back to point A:....
