are there different p28 ecus?
I just got a p28 hondata socketed and a base map chip, turn it over and it idles like 100-200 rpms barely hangin on. its throwing a check engine light, but I cant pull the code for some reason, does anybody know whats this is. I told the guy exactly what motor and setup I had and he burned me a chip and he is a reliable hondata tuner.(kenny tran) is this a dohc ecu or what? the lable on it says -

To answer the topic's question, yes, there are two different motherboards for the P28. They are both the exact same thing from the software side of it, however, so that is not your problem.
Limp home mode. Check to make sure the chip is installed correctly and the notch at one end is oriented toward the ECU plugs. Cut J1 jumper and see if ECU behjaves like stock P28 to verify the ECU is not damaged and it is just the chip/program that is bad. Oh, yeah, you might want to contact Mr. Tran before you start dicking around with anything.
