I'd go for the gauges; but only if they're cryotreated

But seriously, does that really do any good for brake pads, since they aren't a solid piece of metal?

OK guys I am Damon's boss and I don't ever post here but read a lot of you guy's knowledge. I think he is losing his mind or something. The car is almost back together.

I think it is just a big part of having to drive a POS truck everyday while his car is down. I sat down with him today and pretty much told him I would not let him sell the stuff. I even went as far as to tell him that we could pull my baby off the showroom floor so that he could drive a real car again.

You guys please help me out here and back me on this one. I don't want to see him give up now. He is so close.

Polk

Dearest Damon
I hereby forbid you to "tap out". Consider this:

About two years ago, I broke the diff on my B16 CRX. I used this opportunity to build a high comp 1.8 motor for it. When I finished that, after break in and tune, Crower's wonderful cams decided to break, wrecking my motor. It was then I decided to resleeve teh block and go turbo with my Civic. This was in January - of 2001. In June, the motor in my Civic blew, reducing me to driving a stock CRX HF for the last year. I have remained dilligent, persistant, collecting parts and working on things when I can. One year of not driving a car really tests your patience, but I am nearing the end of the road, and once it's done, it'll be everything I wanted when I started.

If I can finish it, so can you. And I have a LOT of money invested in my car. So you are hereby banned from tapping out.

Love John

Damon DAmon Damon,

hey bro,i am starting to feel the same about the hatch, if its not one thing its another. Dude i'd just stick it out and keep it. I figure id regret it and all the work and time spent on the car, being parted out or sold as one. Keep it man, just have a lil more patience on the PUMKIN car and you'll be happy with results.

Dearest Damon,

John's is a true story. He has attempted to tap out several times, and I was one of the ones that would not let him. I two have been down, I have been down since March. I am only about halfway on my rebuild, and have had "tapping out" on my mind lately. There is nothing worse than looking in the garage only to see a beautiful 2001 GSR with no motor and useless. I know where you are coming from, but being that you are so close, I also FORBID you to tap out.

Joe (patiently waiting for boost)

Damon put that damn car together now. You are the closest fast import to me and I will make the drive out there so we can go V8 hunting as soon as you break it in and tune.

Damon, get your car together, get the girl in your avatar, and you will be all set. Have a little faith, and things WILL come together.

i feel your pain. i'm in the exact same position. i'm kind of thinking about parting out my damn car as well. too much time and money and for WHAT?

i waited about 3-4 months to have my engine and head built. i waited another 2 months to break that ************ in and to tune it. after only driving it for about 2 months, i melted the upper part of the piston just like the piston in blownhatch's picture with no damage to the skirts of the pistons. spending money i don't have isn't a good feeling.

like i said, i feel your pain. but, stick by it and HOPEFULLY, it'll pay off. like you, when i'm down, i just want to get in my car and drive. here's one on me
