Testing E-bay Turbo *vid*
Slapped an e-bay turbo on a 92 eg with stock b18b1. Didn't think we'd need the slicks but i guess we did because the thing wouldnt catch traction. its some no name 57 trim i got off of ebay. Just thought id finally see for myself what these things can do, instead of reading people who havent tried them talk about them.
Sorry ahead of time for not getting any traction, didnt think we needed slicks but it spins through 3rd, the turbo did way better than i expected so i had 16" wheels on it

there is a lower resolution video also, so click on it if this one isnt loading fast enough

Re: Testing E-bay Turbo *vid* (non-VTEC)
no its not dual ball bearing. and yes it spools loud for only 5psi... plus the downpipe is just a 3" 90' bend that's maybe 5" long or 6" just points straightdown.
thats probably why the spool sound is loud

Re: Testing E-bay Turbo *vid* (memorybox)
my no name 57 trim at 9psi self destructed within 20 miles of being installed... the nut on the compressor wheel came off. The XSpower 57trim has done much better so far.

Re: Testing E-bay Turbo *vid* (Snoxxy)
it was not a kit, it was just a no name turbo, i would have to assume it was the xspower or something close
just thought id try it insteadof reading about it

yeah it is fun so far, and if you ease on the gas it picks up realy good, not "Grab onto something" fast, its only 5psi

at the track?
On street tires, just do a pull in the gear you get traction in from a roll

Nice find, but I do believe you have a good amount of compressor surge, that would be that cool sounding down spool of the turbo. The sound is actually very bad for the longevity of your turbo!

Re: (Mugencrxsir1)
lol yes i know what all of that is, all i did was slap the turbo on for testing, yes it is surging. and i know some people dont read long threads and just click the links
but for the paint comment, i bought this car completely gutted and rebuilt it for drag only, and slapped an ebay turbo on it while i bought the engine parts, and just took a video of it. im not claiming for it to be anything special. my apologies to you for not painting it
and your stupid if you think wind blowing is a fat kid breathing........ it was 48 degrees outside
