Teflon on flared fittings....
Do any of ya'll use teflon on flared fittings? like for the oil return and oil feed lines?
i'm having a oil leak problem from my oil return line right now and i'm trying to figure out how to get it to stop leaking. i didn't use any teflon on either fittings, but i did use it on the oil feed line. i'm using Stan's oil return line kit so i have the AN fittings.
i have the oil line off right now, so do i put teflon on the fittings and put the oil line back on?

How come you don't use teflon on the AN fittings? I've seen it done before and I'm curious why you wouldn't.

you don't use it because if the fitting is leaking it is not working properly.
a flare fitting seals using the taper of the flare not the treads.
