T4/to4e how much hp
ok i just blew my t4/t67 turbo and got a t4/t04e for $200 buck, i need to know how much hp i can make out of this turbo...my step is a fully built b18c1 benson sleeves, 1000cc injectors, runing on hondata s300 made 400hp on a mustang dyno on 18psi. Now is it worth it to run this turbo or spend another grand for a new turbo?

He asked how much he can make out of the turbo. NOT the motor.

Re: T4/to4e how much hp (ndogg)
if the turbo has stage 5 wheel and a .82 hot side it should generate enough air for 475whp.
p.s. most t3t/o4e turbos have s tage 3 wheel and .63 housing.
edit: never mind is see you have a t4/to4e.

Stage 5 wheel and .63 AR turbine housing will do 475 if you don't give a expletive and crank the boost controller like you have a pair. Pushing 30-31 psi I had an SC44 putting 470-477 whp more or less flat as a strap from 6800-9500 on an 84mm ITR - that was fun.

Nonsense! That's what nitrous is for!

yeah but arent you overspooling the turbo at that point and reducing its life? a .82 swap is just so easy, i dont see why you wouldent do it.

Meh, it's not terribly far off it's published compressor map, so given engineering tolerances I'd say that the lifespan reduction is definitely measurable but not drastic. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure for a trailered racecar the turbo will last a couple years.
FYI, the turbo in question has been beat on for ~3-4 years now and was already smoking on decel. The car has a couple track events under it's belt since it was boosted from 411 to 477 and the turbo isn't smoking any worse yet. I'm as curious as you are to see how long it holds together.

impressive one question though, why not swap to the .82? wouldent it give you a little more (if not a lot more) top end? are you keeping it cause you have an excellent tq curve?

The car is together, running, and all our problems are suspension and traction related. Given the time limits the car owner keeps running into between events a housing swap isn't in the cards. You know how it goes.
