Default T3/T4 wont spin!!!

sup everyone. my brother's civic (dynomax) just got his turbo install done and we're having problems. He's running a T3/T4oe .50/.63 ar and were wondering does it matter which way the oil inlet/outlet goes? thanks!

you mean the feed and return lines??? obviously you want the return on the bottom so gravity can take it back to the pan. that leaves one place for the feed? can you guess it?? thats right the top. no im jk man. dont mind me being a smartass. i hope this answers your question

here are some pics

this is where we hooked the oil inlet:

where we hooked the oil outlet:

oil outlet:

when we started up the car, the compressor did not spin. the downpipe had a mixture of oil and antifreeze. oh btw, this is a brand new turbo!!!

looks to me that you are running the oil in the outlet and out the inlet..
this could cause an oil starvation problem.

It does matter which way they go. The larger square hole is the oil exit, the smaller one is the inlet.

Make sure you have a clear path from the oil exit into the oil pan, you need gravity for the oil to flow...so the oil return line cant curve up.

hrmm.... i'll be nice... and say.. WHOOPS. make sure to feed the oil into the turbo through the inlet, and let it drain, through the outlet...

the outlet is the square hole, inlet is the tapped hole....

If you didn't drive it at all but let it run for a minute it could have really done damage to the turbo.

When you say it doesn't spin that means you cannot put your fingers on her and twist?????

If you connot turn the turbo i would put some marvel mystery oil in the feed and return and let it sit overnight. You might get lucky but if you cant twist the turbo it probably shot. Dont tell them what you did but its probably that they will be able to tell when it gets taken apart.

Good luck

haha this is hilarious!!! the d16 is too small to spin the t3/t4e .50/.63 at idle. we ran an open downpipe. it has 8.5:1 compression srp pistons, eagle rods, arp head bolts, 450cc DSM, VAFC, block guard, and other misc. stuff. oh the reason for the oil leaks is he forgot to tighten the oil lines. other than that it runs fine except that full boost is at 5krpms!!!! the low end to mid end is horrible due to low compression.

what kind of oil drain line are you using? i used to have a braided stainless steel one but i chucked it because it was a bitch to work w/ so i'm looking for a high temp hose w/o the braid
