Curiosity is killing me so I'll be the first to ask for elaboration on why is it so good? I guess I'll be specific to what I personally would gain by going this route. Here are my quick specifics if it helps answer the question:

Street driven 00 Si, fully built b18c running GT30R (.82 housing). It's at Evans Tuning right now being finished up. Stock ignition and Hondata S300.

Am I going to see better idle and a cleaner signal at higher rpm only? Maybe this is more geared towards race only, high power/revving engines. Learn me people!

you cant use it with the S300. but dont worry the hondata ecus read the oem dizzy a lot better than the AEM boxes do.

It doesn't work with a Honda ECU, so you're off the hook. lol

The problem is with aftermarket ecu's (AEM, Motec, etc). They don't interpret the signals coming in from the distributor very well. Those signals control everything. All fuel and ignition events are triggered by those signals. If they are bad, everything is bad. The cam trigger has a digital signal that those ecu's understand much better and is much less affected by RF noise. Cleaner signal coming in means the car runs smoother and fuel and ignition events are more accurate.

Honda made their ecu specifically to work with their distributor, so it does not have those problems.

I knew I'd have to up to AEM or the like. Just curious what that cost would equate to in gains whether it be gas mileage, smoother power, yadda yadda. I think I have my answer. Thanks!!

Gen 6, no. Gen 7, possibly. You'd have to get with Accel and ask them. It needs to be able to see 6 "crank" pulses per revolution and 1 "cam" pulse per cycle from a Hall sensor.
