supercharging an auto?
hey guys
ive been trying to avoid FI for a while, but there is a local person selling a jrsc supercharger for under 1k used.
the engine in my 96 civic ex (d16y8) had been replaced before i bought it, so i dont know how much mileage is on the engine.
another thing... my car is currently an automatic. i plan on doing a manual swap later, but i cant let this supercharger deal pass by.
so i guess here are my two main questions:
1) can i supercharge the auto? or will some things not work?
2) is there anything in my engine i should replace to ensure a properly built FI setup?
2.5) will i have to use premium gas?
3) anything else you might wanna tell me? (besides doing a search , im on it now )
thanks!

1) sure.
2) larger injectors and a good tune wont hurt.
2.5) yes.
3) you will probably have high intake temps, i would recommend a form of air cooling.

thanks for the reply veggie,
so i wont need any forged pistons or any other goodies like that? i cant afford to have a busted engine after S/C it.
also i read that i would have to grind a notch into my shock tower for the pulley to fit?
