Default Stupid question about pipping.

Ok I know this is stupid but I am new to the forced induction thing. Do I weld my pipes from my turbo to my intercooler and my intercooler to my intake together or do I use silicone pipe connectors? Like the bend and stuff.

you can weld them together. the less coulpings the better IMO.

http://www.jcwhitney.com < they sell u bends and piping
http://www.turbohoses.com < for all of your coupling needs

I used a total of 6 couplers including t/b, turbo compressor, FMIC everything. The less couplers the better, but you do them there for ease of installation. You can be a pretty good judge of where to weld and where to use couplers by just looking @ the car

Ditto what the others said, but just dont try welding the piping TO the turbo and TO the intercooler. That would be bad.

How did u only use three? The compressor, both sides of intercooler and t/b is already 4 couplers? I dont get it? I did the J style bend off the turbo meeting coupler under/near a/c compressor then a u bend meeting the inlet of FMIC, and then a u bend out the outlet of FMIC and welded a 90 facing up. Meeting next coupler(near a/c line) then 90 bend welded toward firewall to straight charge pipe and then a bend to t/b. So i have a total of 4 couplers on the necessary pieces and 2 in between.

This was my first piping kit that i made from U bends so my measurements were made by eye and my tape measure. If i had a kit already to build off of i'm sure i could have been alot easier, but hey everything is in tact

If he has the FR setup I believe he could get away with only three. One on TB, another from the IC to intake and last from the turbo to IC. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

You are correct sir. Setups with the backdoor style intercooler will need one less coupling.
