I wanted to know what motor is better for fi, gsr or type r. I would guess the gsr would react better because of lower compression, blah blah. My question is, IF somebody had a jdm ITR engine and turbocharged it, would they get more hp with the ITR cams, or GSR cams? I know this doesn't make sense, but any answers would be appreciated. TIA.

Wow this has been beaten to death. You should try using the search option first but anyways let me see if I can help a little. Some people love/hate turbo r's, I personally think they are dumb but anyways. Yes the type r does have higher compresion then the gsr so right off the bat this limits how much boost they can run. They are already making around 250-260 whp at 6-7ps. Now the gsr is more practical to turbo due to its lower compresion. You can run as much as 10psi on this engine with proper fueling and what not and achieve around 220-240 whp at 7-8 psi. I would choose gsr to turbo over the R.
I will just make a quick point for the LS motor - it is disposable if you blow it! try finding a replacement block for a type R when you blow it apart!
