stuff breaking from having turbo
i know what are the things that are important inside the engine that can take boost but what about thigns such as axles. i told my friend that im planning on going turbo my SOHC then he said that stuff break cause it cant take the power such as the axles.
I have had my turbo kit on for almost 8k miles so far with not a single problem!
I'm running a D16Y8 motor, added the turbo at 70k miles on the motor and have kept on going. I am running the new Edelbrock turbo kit with a Garrett T28.

Axles break usually cause people dont get out of it when severe wheel hop happens. People have used stock B series axles in 500-600 hp ranges and they have held up. Ofcourse lots of other factors here, but if your nice to your components they will be nice back to you......I remember peeking inside the Titan Supra last year and there was a sticker on the steering wheel that said something like "Love your clutch".
i just interested in turboing my dx but a friend told me that things break such as axles if there is too much power for the dx to handle.
It's all relative. I'm still on my stock clutch after 10k of turbo lovin', (128k on the clutch), but I treat it well and don't do dumps from 7k or anything like that.
Treat your car well and your car will treat you well. Obviously laying down more power is going to cause more problems if you romp on your car daily though. Busted axles, exploding clutches, and blown up trannies are not unheard of for anyone making lots of power, but if you're careful and you don't beat on your car (well, maybe when you're at the track
), then you shouldn't have to worry too much.
