ok i have the opportunity to pick up either a gsr hydro or a b16 cable. i have heard that cable trannies are better because the casing is stronger then the hydro casings, does anyone know if this is true ? what are you high hp (400whp+) guys using for trannys and how are they holding up ?

im not really worried about replacing syncros or diffs, im just wondering which one is a stronger tranny to get. i did try search but i couldnt come up with anything

well i never heard of the casing difference , but everything internally between any b-series tranny is made with the same grade of materials...so they all hold up about the same amount of power. the only difference between them is gearing ratios, and lsd vs no lsd.

 

does anyone know how much hp hte stock gears will handle in stock honda trans ?

nobody know anything about strength of hte casing between cable and hydro ?

 

The gears themselves can hold alot of power, it just depends on how much you beat on the car and hurt the syncros and such. .

 

GSR has a stronger factory diff than a B16/LS tranny

wat car is it going into? what motor? wat are you plannings? boosting, NA?

91 hatch, b18b. i plan on boosting, around 25psi and 500whp. gonna be a street car but run at the track alot.

what kind of trannys do you 400+whp guys use for trannys ?

i hear me that cable tranny casing are stronger then hydro casing.
