Re: street driven 9 second honda? (SIXTYdashONE)
Slightly OT, but, is there any disadvantages to having a 11, or 12 second(500WHP) daily driver. I mean, can't u just turn the boost down to like 8lbs and drive it like its just a somewhat fast honda(like, 400 mile road trips and stuff).

It all depends on how well its tuned. I have a friend with 467whp in his hatch and he has 720cc injectors w/ inline pump and AEM management and drives it everyday on 13psi and turns it up to 22psi on the track. He has several base maps which he uses his palm pilot to switch from his higher racing maps to his daily driver 25MPG map. I guess the only dissadvantage would be the crazy money your spending on getting the parts and such to make it fast and reliable.

That car is amazing, it sat for the last few months, and he didnt touch a single thing on it. Brought it out and it goes 10.07@147.. Crazy... Just keep in mind that Jay doesnt drive this car on the street as i mentioned earlier.. I mean he can, but he doesnt.

Keep in mind that a 10 second car does NOT just have a 10 second motor. It also has 10 second weight reduction, and a 10 second suspension, and 10 second tires, etc. While the motor, although a bit laggy, would probably be OK to drive on the street, the rest of it makes it more difficult.
Besides, there is a difference between a car that is a "street car" and c ar that is driven to the track.
Still totally sick though!

You can blame me for the car no longer being a daily driver! It was on my advice that he restrains from street racing. And ever since the trannys seem to last much longer before needing some tweaking (cable trans parts are getting hard to find) I know we have like 7 broken ones Taking it on a trailer- hell yeah Now we can run the pee out if it, break it if necessary and not worry about how are we getting it home! The set up is way too simple just 2/3 years of fine tuning fuel, engine, chassi, and finally it all came together. Yes it sat since the end of last season till maple grove this year when jason un-retired her and won the nopi event. But there was a time 2 years ago that it was driven to the track bolt on the slicks and go run 11's. I like to think of it as the little car that could would and did!
I am sure jason will add his .02 worth

if you had the choice between 2 tow vehicles and 3 trailors, you'd tow your 20 second, 2002 chevy malibu to the track...........just for the hell of it. aw ****, my tire pressure's low in the rear, **** it, just put it on the trailor.

Hey Jinx, did you ever trailor your old civic back when it was running 10.40s? And when you were going that fast, did you still bring it out to run on the streets (for money?)

Actually the only time that car was ever on a dyno was when it got it's initial tune to setup the speed pro. Has never been on a dyno since. I think only made in the 300s that day....lol....I'm sure it makes alot more now. FFGeoff remembers the days back when he used to drive it to every race. Remember when we got shot up in DC by paint ball thugs?

Re: street driven 9 second honda? (XXXRacing)
hahah the white caravan!!! lol i was telling someone about that the other day
drove my civic to va cracked the manifold on the ride down, welded it up at those drag harley dude's shop, got back to the track, raced and prayed that i could drive home
I dont think much has changed, this summer i drove to virginia beach, drove to south carolina, then back to Va. beach dynoed there, and then drove home. I really need to get a trailer one day. BTW jason was also driving along side us. When i was driving behind him i was watching his car puff little flames
