Default Strange Wobble Under Acceleration...

I've had my car up and going for about 4 days now and all of a sudden a strange wobble came about under heavy acceleration. It feels as though I had broken a motor mount or had a tire out of balance. But the thing is - if youre under heavy acceleration and then let off the vibration goes away instantly. Right now I have some really shitty plug wires on it and I was thinking that maybe it was miss firing under load or somehting along that line. You guys got any ideas as to what may be wrong?

Btw, I'm running the 18g Greddy Kit on a 2000 LS motor with a GSR Feul Pump, RC 310's, and the Blue box.

Checked the axles as soon as it happened, no issues to be found. It doesnt seem to be suspension or trans related. Any other ideas?

I'm desperate guys, any input would be helpful. I'm thinkin it may have even been an injector that wasnt working properly, I only have one plug that seems to be running the slightest bit lean.

YOu wont see any visible problem with your axles.
Check wheel bearing too.
Trust me, they are whack, I just went through this with my car, like yesterday!
Try swapping with a friend and see if it works.

as far as i can tell by your description i would look into your wheel bearing, and if those check out ok i would pull the tire off and check the balance, as far as it misfiring trust me you would be able to tell it would feel slower all the time and not just under heavy acceleration

You might want to look at your rack and pinion or the tierod ends that come off of it.

I had the same problem once.

Wouldn't there be any strange tire wear if it was suspenion or drive train related? I just don't understand why it would only happen during accelration then disappear.

its your half-shaft. same thing happened to me. don't ask me how they warp, but before i was boosted, i went through this. eventually it got to the point that if i went on a long trip (about 60min) the wobbling would become so intense that i couldn't go faster then 45mph, and it was still bad there. Heat seemed to aggravate the problem. Anyway, after changing out the axles, the problem wasn't solved...another trip to the mechanic and turns out it was the half shaft.

Did your vibration let up when you let off of the gas? If I'm going along and let off the acceleration - the vibration goes away instantly.

Checked em earlier, they're all fine.

Yes. That is exactly it. the vibration was only present under acceleration.

It's definately your axles. The bearings inside are busted. Some symptons are vibration during acceleration only and clicking when turning full radius.

i had a simlar problem ater replacing my clutch..

strange wobble..

went home and took about 4 turns of a lug wrench to tighten them

(they were on hand tight)

then it might be axles...
