strange coolant issue
ok guys I have no idea what this could be or mean. the coolant in the over flow is slightly low and darker in color. at first I thought head gasket but I am not sure because:
1. the car doesn't smoke at all except at start up on cold mornings(I would guess condensation) and black smoke very top end(rich)
2. the car doesn't over heat at all. infact coasting down large hills in cooler spring like weather(under 60 degrees) the temp gauge actually drops a bit then when idling it comes back to tempeture
3. doesn't seem to be seeping out from the HG area
4. oil is not milky at all
I have no idea what it could be. could it just be that I need to flush the coolant system? any ideas?

Re: strange coolant issue (lazerus)
well I figured that is why it was dark but would it get lower cause it is dirty? does it like burn off some of the water in the 50/50 mix and that be a reason...this has me stumped cause if it was the HG it would have one of the above symptoms right? I mean the coolant doesn't bubble or anything I don't think air is gettin in
