Maybe you want to rephrase your question? Are you trying to ask if a sohc vtec is worth building? Or if it's worth tuning a stock engine?(answer here is no)

with the addition of a turbo..?

It is always worth tuning a motor over stock.. but some won't put the time into it because it is a stock car.. it doesn't matter if it runs good or not.. it is stock.. haha

no, what are you going to tune? There's not really any free power in a stock motor, i've heard of people advancing timing but that's about it.

ahhhhh ok
just so you know, adding an intake, header, and exhaust doesn't make your car stock anymore. Those mods would make it modded. But from what i understand an intake, header, and exhaust are more or less the minimum for tuning. So yes if you have those mods it may be beneficial to tune.

Just so you're not disappointed, don't look for huge gains, prolly about 10hp for all 3 mods(just throwing out a guess). D series aren't much for NA, though you can make power with them NA it's easier with a DOHC vtec engine. Don't get it twisted it still costs a good amount of money for HP from them. If you're looking for a bigger boost in power i'd save for a turbo or a swap.

In the future just try to be more specific if you can.
