I only want to run about 17psi. so that would be safe without getting the block sleeved right??

well if u ask a stupid question yer gona get a stupid answer. SEARCH NOOB! there is no "limit" its all in the tune. there are 400+whp 25+psi b16s on stock sleaves and some built B16s blow up on 10 psi. its all in the tune homie, which you would have found out if you SEARCHED

You are so, full of sh.it. if that were true there would be no need to get a block sleeved. thats bs there is a limit to stock sleeves, thus the reason for getting a block sleeved. and by the way the Search doesnt work.

the sleeves are not the weak point in the honda motor, it's the stock Piston ringlands. The stock sleeves will hold 600+ hp.
and it's not the PSI you need to worry about, it's how much power the engine is making, PSI is irrelevant. On pump gas mid 400's and then whatever you can push the turbo to on race gas w/o blowing hot air or going past your setup.

</TD></TR></TABLE>thanks, just wondering why does everyone insist on getting the block sleeved?? Why should I waste money, I could spend elsewhere (headwork, etc.) I'm not even trying to make more than 400 hp.

Re: Stock B16 and Boosting question. (88crxhfb16)
yeah certain people (jeff evans) make a ton of power on stock blocks. Wiht 400whp goal you dont NEED sleaves but im sure its better to have then not have.
I sleaved my b16a and im shooting for 450-500

Re: Stock B16 and Boosting question. (88crxhfb16)
I sleeved mine purely for peace of mind and the ability to go bigger once i get a taste of good boost. I was running 10 PSI on my stock b16 then decided to build it. I hope to run alot more boost and by sleeving i wont be on the raged edge all the time i'm in boost. plus i have room to play if I wanna go bigger

oh yeah that too. mines almost a 2.0 now

so maybe I should spend a little extra and go with the sleeves for future growth. also what bore gives u almost 2.0 and is there still plenty of material left on the sleeves for strength??
