Stand-alones...
So I am about a week away from picking up my newly AEM EMS tuned LS turbo hatch, and I was wondering what the rest of you fellas did if you had standalone fuel management.
The car originally came with a Haltech E6K, and I'm pretty sure I burnt the box up on it, as they seem to be pretty fragile. They also seem to have no use for an IAC valve, air charge temp sensor, coolant temp sensor, coolant temp switch, and a knock sensor. It comes with it's own flying lead, so when you decide that you don't want it any more, you've got to get a new engine harness, and a new cabin harness to replace it. I feel like the ton of money I have spent to go from Haltech and distributorless ignition, back to stock wiring, AEM EMS, and stock ignition was well worth it...
Let's hear what you run...

Re: Stand-alones... (mildly interesting)
I love my uberdata and you can't beat the price, but AEM sounds awefull nice if I could come up with the money somehow, but I can't justify spending 1000 bux or so for something that wouldn't do much more for me than uberdata does right now. If I had a built motor and was making tons of power then yeah, I think AEM would be the way to go.

yes, that's exactly what I should do! I love fuel starvation under boost! I also tend to think that making 20 lbs+ under boost isn't the ideal situation to use the FMU...

What is the difference between hondata, chipped ECU, crome/uberdata/something J. Davis wrote(btw, i dont think J. has written any ROM editors, but i could be wrong)?? Not much is the answer
Yea, polls like this are pointless. I vote you get a FMU</TD></TR></TABLE>

I think he just wants to see what people are running...its an informative poll for curious minds nonetheless.
In terms of which system is right for you, research the benefits that have been discussed in a ton of posts and on the mfr sites and you'll see which one is a fit.

this thread was not about FMU's it said clearly STANDALONES... btw FMU's dont even come close to being as efficient as a standalone
BTW my vote gets Hondata
