95 b18c1 with tial 38mm wastegate set at 7psi, dsm 440's tuned on chrome. I also have an oil restrictor on the turbo which helps "ebay" turbos from dying, so ive read. The specs on the turbo are t3/to4e 57 trim with .63a/r exhaust and .50 a/r compressor side.

thanks for the info, but i meant the specs of the actual turbo. A/Rs, trim...

what did the power band feel like? if you have a dyno sheet to post, that'd help a lot! thanks

The T70's Ive tested all worked great. A guy on here had one and broke it by dropping it off onto a concrete floor.... but how that makes the turbo bad I dont know. I've never had a failure w/ the 2 I tested.

just looked it up. $279 isnt bad at all for a turbo. That might be my next turbo. Now whats the turbo oil restrictor that everyone has been talking about??? They say that SS or XS offers it??

I believe if you can get in contact w/ "Function7" they sell oil restrictor kits too.

from what I've read on here, a lot of the cheaper turbos tend to get blown seals by too much oil flowing in, the restrictor limits the oil intake just enough to prevent that from happening and to keep the turbo properly lubricated

anybody have a compressor map for their 57 trim w/ .50 a/r compressor and .63 turbine those combos just sound like plenty of flow but a real limited compressor which'll hinder the top end.. possibly making it fall off a little bit?

I made my own oil restrictor for almost nothing! All I did was tap out the 90* turbo inlet oil AN elbow fitting with a 5mm tap, then drilled out the centre of a 5mm grub screw with a 1.5 mm drill bit. I screwed the grub screw into the turbo AN 90* elbow fitting. This now stops over oiling of the turbo!
The grubscrew can't unscrew its self out because the turbo oil feed pipe screws onto the 90* fitting & holds it in!

Hondas can put out up to 60 in the upper rpms...

that oil restrictor would probably be perfect

yup and Ball bearing turbos require even less oil pressure, basicly enough to keep it lube'd

If you guys want to figure out what size restrictor to use heres a little site with a calculator that may be able to help you.

http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.g....html

If you guys are confused with the site I can show you an easier/alternative way to calculate it

you know what I think?

Thats SSAC has made a come back.

Being that they have a bad name, when something brakes they(customers) blame the turbo,

However, if someone has a reall nice Garret or something and it brakes, they just blame them selves.

This is something I think as to the rep of ssac.
Good turbos go bad all the time. People just think becuase it has a great name behind it, it was something they did.

dont flame, I'm not saying SSAC is better, there not. But their putting up a fight for basic low psi boosting.

Many people over at G2IC use SSAC and hvae had great results.

One guy blew his turb, but he blamed himself,

He said he saw it spike, and the last # he saw was 28psi. lol and then boom.
but he forgot to hok something up.

I might look into an SSAC kit and replace a few things,

Tuning is something that must be done correcty.

I only want 6psi so I dont need a 1K turbo.

guess time will tell.

And dont flame me on my statement above, its IMO

same w. the T04E
