So every now and again my car will throw a DTC code of 1429 which if I'm not mistaken is a VTEC malfunction. I checked my solenoid and the filter is clean and nothing seems to be blocking the passage of oil. My car started throwing this code one day coming back from the track when I was driving with my A/C on and I was speeding up with wide open throttle, it threw the code in third gear. I cleared the code and drove again, it threw the code again. I got home without pushing my car and the next day I cleared the code and it worked fine. It didn't throw that specific code again, even after another day at the track and driving home. But just yesterday on my way home I toyed with a group of three hatchbacks and I would spool up and let off the throttle at about 8K RPM and let it rev down and then shift up at around 5K or so, when I sped up in fourth at wide open throttle a little later, my car threw the code again. But again, after letting it cool down and sit overnight, I cleared the code and it is fine. Anyone have any ideas as to why my car is throwing such a code or what could be wrong? Thanks.
